6 medals from the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad

The participating teams in the 12th JBMO were from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Cyprus, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Montenegro, Kazakhstan.

Gold medals for the Bulgarian team won Jivko Jechev, Shumen and Bogdan Stankov, Sofia. Rafael Rafailov and Radoslav Kafov, Sofia, and Alexandrina Stoyanova, Varna, took silver medals. Nikola Konstantinov, Sofia, won a bronze.

The team leaders were Ivaylo Kortezov from the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and Svetozar Doichev from the High School of Math and Science in Stara Zagora.
