Bulgaria won a bronze medal in
the International Biology Olympiad 2008

The 19th International Biology Olympiad took place July 13-20 in Mumbai, India.

The Bulgarian team:

Radoslav Alexandrov, Sofia - bronze medal;
Antoan Garev, Pleven;
Maria Tsaneva, Targovishte;
Dimitar Epihov, Burgas.

Team leaders:
Mariela Odzhakova and Ilian Iliev - Faculty of Biology at Sofia University.

The bronze medalist Radoslav is an experienced contestant, who was in the Bulgarian team last year too. Antoan and Dimitar are scholarship recipients of AFB, which sponsored the selection, preparation and participation of the team.

Since AFB started financing the Biology teams, they have one a medal four times - every year since 2005.
